HB 1583 - Concerning medicaid coverage for traditional health care practices.

Section 1

The definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter unless the context clearly requires otherwise.

Section 2

The authority shall apply, no later than September 1, 2025, for a waiver from the centers for medicare and medicaid services under section 1115(a) of the social security act to provide expenditure authority for coverage of traditional health care practices. Upon approval from the centers for medicare and medicaid services, the authority shall provide coverage, in accordance with centers for medicare and medicaid services requirements, for traditional health care practices received through Indian health service facilities or facilities operated by tribes or tribal organizations under the Indian self-determination and education assistance act. Coverage of these traditional health care practices must be available to medicaid beneficiaries who are able to receive services delivered by or through these facilities.
