Section 1

This section adds a new section to an existing chapter 41.05. Here is the modified chapter for context.

  1. A health plan offered to public employees and their covered dependents under this chapter issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2022, must provide coverage for wraparound services for persons who are under 21 years of age.

  2. Wraparound services include:

    1. Case management and care coordination;

    2. Counseling, including individual, family, group, youth, and vocational counseling;

    3. Crisis care and outreach;

    4. Education and special education services, including tutoring;

    5. Family support, independent living supports, self-help, or support groups;

    6. Psychiatric consultation and community-based in-patient psychiatric care;

    7. Legal services, protection, and advocacy;

    8. Recreation therapy;

    9. Residential treatment, including respite care;

    10. Small therapeutic group care; and

    11. Transportation.

Section 2

This section adds a new section to an existing chapter 48.43. Here is the modified chapter for context.

  1. For health plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2022, a health carrier must provide coverage for wraparound services for persons who are under 21 years of age.

  2. Wraparound services include:

    1. Case management and care coordination;

    2. Counseling, including individual, family, group, youth, and vocational counseling;

    3. Crisis care and outreach;

    4. Education and special education services, including tutoring;

    5. Family support, independent living supports, self-help, or support groups;

    6. Psychiatric consultation and community-based in-patient psychiatric care;

    7. Legal services, protection, and advocacy;

    8. Recreation therapy;

    9. Residential treatment, including respite care;

    10. Small therapeutic group care; and

    11. Transportation.
